Dr Samuel Mwenda

Dr Samuel Mwenda is the General Secretary and CEO of the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) which is a national network of the Protestant Churches Health Facilities and programs from all over Kenya with a membership of 563 that includes hospitals, health centres, medical training colleges and community based health care programs. He also serves as secretary to the MOH-Faith Based Health Services Technical Working Group which coordinates partnership engagement between the Government and the FBOs in Kenya. He is also a member of the Kenya CCM for the Global Fund programs. At regional level he is the vice president for the Africa Christian Health Associations Platform (ACHAP) and provides oversight to its Secretariat which is hosted by CHAK in Nairobi. Prior to joining CHAK, he served for 4 years as the CEO of a 250 bed Mission Hospital in rural Kenya, which was offering a wide range of integrated health services and had a Medical Training College for Registered Nurses. He is a member of Board of Directors of MEDS which is a leading faith based Medical Supply Chain in Africa, IMA WorlHealth of USA and chairs the Board of the Institute of Family Medicine in Kenya. He is a Medical Doctor specialized in health systems management (Msc)
