Dr. Javier Dominguez
Dr. Javier Dominguez delOlmograduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He pursued postgraduate studies on Family Medicineand Health Systems Administration at the Institute of Social Services and Security of the State Workers (ISSSTE).
He worked during 17 years for ISSSTE, at various clinical, academic and administrative areas. Among other responsibilities, he was Director of the National Reproductive Health Services and Deputy General Director of Health Services Regulation.
Since 1997 he works for the United Nations Population Fundin Mexico (UNFPA), where he has worked as Program’s National Officer, Technical Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean in Reproductive Health Quality Services, and as Head of the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health in Mexico. In this Agency of the United Nations System, he has participated in the design and follow up of 58 projects on Reproductive Health; and he has implemented 55 missions of technical assistance to 19 countries in the areas of: family planning, assurance of reproductive health inputs, strategies of maternal mortality reduction, sexual and reproductive health services for youngsters, and quality improvement of reproductive health services.
He has been Lecturer in 48 scientific national and in 62 international congresses, and has offered more than 480 conferences in various events of continuous education and training at national and international levels, and has provided 22 training workshops in various subjects of sexual and reproductive health and of family medicine services.
