Philip D. Harvey
Mr. Harvey is founder and president of DKT International, a non-profit organization that designs and operates social marketing and clinic programs for family planning and AIDS prevention in developing countries. DKT currently operates programs in 19 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In 2012 the organization served 25 million couples, selling 600 million condoms and 76 million oral contraceptive cycles, as well as injectable contraceptives, IUDs, emergency contraception, female condoms, implants, medical abortion drugs, and MVA kits.
Mr. Harvey is author of Let Every Child Be Wanted: How Social Marketing is Revolutionizing Contraceptive Use Around the World (Greenwood, 1999), a book that provides a history of social marketing programs in developing countries as well as detailed information about how these programs operate and how to design and run them successfully. He is the author of three other books as well, and of more than 40 published articles on international family planning.
